The 2nd edition of LCI BARCELONA FASHION FILM FESTIVAL has once again surpassed all expectations with over 200 participants from around the world that have registered for the second edition of the festival, with a huge international participation.
The festival will celebrated its Award Ceremony on October 25th and the names of the finalists and winners will be revealed, and will once again have an exceptional scenario: the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona. The festival will be presented by TVE journalist Cristina Pampín and will feature the performance of Tildo Muxart.

The event will once again position Barcelona as the capital of fashion, as is already happening in other cities of the fashion industry that have their own fashion film festival: London Fashion Film Festival, Berlin Fashion Film Festival, International Fashion Film Festival Brussels , Fashion Film Festival Milano, and Madrid Fashion Film Festival.

During the Award Ceremony, the LCI BCNFFF 2018 honorary mention will be awarded to Victor Claramunt, one of the most important fashion films director in the world and winner of the best director award at the La Jolla international festival in the USA (el equivalente a los Oscar de Hollywood en Fashion Films) (the equivalent of the Hollywood Oscars in Fashion Films) and has worked for important brands such as LongcChamp, Coca Cola, PlayStation, Sony Music, Adidas, Andres Sarda, Nestle and Castrol.
His fashion film Breaking Rules, made for Bibilou, has won more than 20 international awards – becoming one of the most awarded fashion films in the world – and his career has been recognized with a lot of awards: Best Fashion Film / Emerging Artist at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival , Best Creative Concept at the Medellin Fashion Festival, Best Fashion Film and Best Production at the Australian International Fashion Film Festival, among others.

In addition, 10 awards will be presented: Best Fashion Film, Best Emerging Fashion Film, Best Styling, Best Emerging Styling, Best Art Direction, Best Emerging Art Direction, Best Idea, Best Emerging Idea, Best Photography Direction and Best Direction of Emerging Photography.
The festival have a commission of experts of recognized prestige that has selected the finalists among all the presented candidatures. The commissioner is formed by the director and film producer Judith Colell, the journalist specialized in fashion culture Charo Mora, the fashion brand consultant Maya McCarthy, the fashion designer and art director Fabricio Pérez, and the textile and clothing curator of the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona Sílvia Ventosa.

Likewise, the LCI BCNFFF jury is made up of renowned professionals from the fashion, audiovisual and advertising sectors: : the fashion film director, Victor Claramunt, the actress Mariona Ribas, the fashion designer Toni Miró, Metal Magazine’s director Yolanda Muelas, the digital influencer Anna Ponsa, the CEO of XXL Comunicación Alex Estil-les, the fashion designer Krizia Robustella, the jewelry designer Nuria Torrente, the journalist and founder of the fashion magazine itfashion.com Estel Vilaseca, and the Director of Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, Pilar Velez. The jury has especially valued the originality and creativity of fashion films.

The workshops and previous activities that have taken place at LCI Barcelona have broken all the records.
These special activities have counted on Victor Claramunt and Maya McCarthy in the workshop “How to create a fashion film”, Gabriela Pedranti in the workshop
“Sense, society and identity in fashion films”, and the Kluid Magazine team in the “Fashion editorials”.

After the great success of the first edition, LCI BARCELONA FASHION FILM FESTIVAL returs, he only fashion films festival in the city of Barcelona and the first in the world that gives special attention to the new talents of fashion, audiovisual and advertising.

About fashion films

Fashion film is an alternative way of understanding advertising, transforming it into a story that aims to reach the public and create emotional bonds. Techniques and cinematographic means are used to create a product that can be a video art project and a short film with a narrative typical of classic Hollywood cinema.
Brands such as Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton or Prada and directors such as Roman Polanski, Spike Jonze or Sofia Coppola have fallen the art of “fashion in movement” of fashion films.
And it is that the line that separates classic advertising with audiovisual communication and cinema itself is getting thinner. It is also important to mention the importance of the Internet as an essential element to understand it.

About the scenario: Museu del Disseny de Barcelona

The Museu del Disseny de Barcelona is the scenario of the LCI BCNFFF festival. . The museum has a collection of over 19 thousand pieces including historical clothing, fashion design, accessories, textiles and fashion photography. Part of this extensive collection can be seen in the permanent exhibition “El cos vestit. Siluetes i moda (1550-2015)”. With about 180 dresses, it shows the evolution of the forms and the way the costumes have molded the body from the 16th century to the current creators.
